Abstract：The development of structural designagainst natural hazard was reviewed briefly. The structural design based ondamage-reduction was studied, and the relationship between damage-reductionmode and structural control was discussed. Examples show that the methodherein is rational and helpful to structural design against natural hazard.

Abstract： An analysis of rituals is a correctapproach to the study of the origion of rites.The Pre-Qin Book of Rites hasa lot of records of rituals,which actually stem from primitive people's signlanguage,later to become the more vivid images in music and dances.Step bystep,the inconsistent rituals with sign language as its origion develop intorites with new cultural elements added to them bit by bit in the course ofthousands of years.Now,although the very beginning of rites is hardly seen,itsessence as an influential force on Chinese culture is certain.
